Please note that discounts may be available under certain circumstances, such as the time of year, the number of performers required, and the specific equipment needed. Please be aware that July and August have consistently been our busiest months for the past decade, with nearly every weekend booked solid from Friday through Sunday. To ensure the best chance of collaborating and working together, it’s advantageous to get your event date on our radar as early as possible, even if it’s years in advance.

All quotes are based on a single-day rate, which includes our standard event team and equipment. The total number of hours that the experience is open for does not alter the logistics, insurance, and costs incurred by our team for traveling to and setting up at your event. We encourage you to recruit sponsors or use other creative methods to help fund this unique experience, and will even help co-brand our experience with your sponsor(s).

*Pricing excludes travel-related expenses, which include, but are not limited to, fuel and hotel accommodations.

About The Costs

Ride The Airbag, while thrilling and captivating, can come with considerable costs, a reflection of the high-caliber experience it offers. Firstly, the price tag often reflects the decades of experience behind this opportunity. Such experience ensures a flawless, professional team but also contributes to the overall expense.

A significant factor in the cost is the insurance. Given the nature of bicycle jumping, while still contained within the world’s best training equipment, insurance premiums are substantial to protect all involved – the participants, the audience, and the organizers. These experiences aren’t just about jumping onto an airbag; they’re conducted by professional athletes who bring years of training and expertise. Their status not only guarantees an unparalleled experience but also means higher fees for their talent and skills.

Moreover, the logistics of travel and transporting specialized equipment add to the expenses. The experience entails moving a team of professionals, along with high-end equipment and gear, potentially over long distances. This logistics management is crucial for a hassle-free experience but adds to the budget.

If budget is a concern, please reach out to our Founder/CEO, Dustin Grice to see what may be possible based on the date and time of year of your event.

Participant Requirements:

  • Signed Waiver (Parent if under 18)
  • Bike, Scooter, or Skateboard
  • Helmet Required, Pads Optional
  • Positive Attitude & Ready to RIDE!

Space & Surface Requirements

  • Ballpark 200-300′ long by 30′ wide in total PER AIRBAG (100′ long by 30′ wide for where the jump and landing areas are located, and then the additional 100+ as a narrow 5-10′ wide runway into that area to gain speed for the jump, think of this as a long runway).
  • Airbags can also be set up in a bi-directional format to help save on the total width of the space… This means a rider would jump one ramp, and then one the way back jump the other ramp. This allows the wide airbags to not sit next to each other allowing for an overall narrower layout.
  • We also, however, have a starting ramp that can be quoted which will cut this footprint in half if necessary.
  • The harder the surface, the better, faster, and higher we can perform.
  • Roads work very well, even narrow sidewalks can work well.
  • Gravel can work if swept. Grass or Dirt can work if completely dry and flat or slightly downhill to help gain speed. Plywood on-site helps in these situations.
  • Starting on pavement, and ending in the grass where we land can also work well.
  • Sand is about the only surface that is unacceptable.

Sample Course Layouts

*This can be flexible, however in general the more space participants have, the more comfortable they are learning. Hard surfaces are best to pedal on. The landing side of the course can also be into grass to save on space if necessary where participants will be stopping.

About Our Founder: Dustin Grice

One day while growing up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, 5th Grader Dustin Grice went to school and was surprised by a jaw-dropping Freestyle BMX assembly in the gymnasium. Within an hour, Dustin met his first professional athlete and received an autograph from Trevor Meyer, a 3-time X-Games Gold Medalist. Since that day, Dustin started riding his bike at home trying to be like his new idol, and soon found a new life-long passion that would follow him through high school, college, and working a ‘real world’ career. Today, more than 20 years later, Dustin is an instructor at Hennepin Technical College, has been on the cover of BMX Plus! Magazine, has opened Minneapolis’ very own indoor bike park offering lessons for kids, and has even performed in an action sports show you may have seen on TV called Nitro Circus. You may have seen Dustin performing each summer at the Minnesota State Fair, or even during the winter jumping his fat bike into the bone-chilling frozen water of the Polar Plunge, raising more than $40,000 donated to Special Olympics Athletes. Dustin’s love for riding bikes has brought him all around the world to places he learned about in school including Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, and South America. You can watch Dustin online and his ‘Lil Pros Tour’ videos featuring the youngest talent in BMX with over 2 million views on YouTube. For the past 10 years, Dustin has even been performing together with his idol Trevor Meyer, completing a full circle which all goes back to that one memorable day in school… What is your passion?
